Precision cutting

precision cutting

The heart of OMF is our Waterjet and Plasma cutting tables. Our Waterjet has the ability to cut almost any material up to six inches thick with an accuracy to within +/- 0.002 of an inch. The jet is controlled by computer, generating the same extreme accuracy on one part or one thousand parts. Cutting with water allows us to create parts without the negative side effects of heat, commonly found with more traditional cutting methods. The Waterjet can cut materials that are gummy like rubber or materials that can be brittle like plastics or glass. The jet can also cut objects made with multiple material types. Using CAD we can maximize material usage by tightly nesting cuts together to get the maximum number of parts out of one piece of material as possible.

Precision Bending

With our CNC Press Brake, we have the capability of bending metals with an accuracy to within +/- 0.005 of an inch and you can expect the same accuracy between two parts or one thousand parts. The Press Brake is also computer controlled allowing OMF to maintain accuracy of your parts or projects, day after day or year after year.

Precision Welding

Precision Welding

The OMF welding staff has certifications in many AWS categories. A company is only as good as its people and our people are equally skilled in both MIG and TIG welding. They share in the belief that every weld in a job should be as pretty as the first.

Quality

Quality delivered on time with our Five Step Quality Control Process.

  • Formal, internal drawings and part numbers are created and assigned for each deliverable, unless provided by the customer.
  • A Work Order, generated for each confirmed Estimate or Purchase Order, is checked prior to release.
  • Production Staff Members, tasked with creating components, record all outputs on the Work Order.
  • Designated Quality Inspectors perform visual inspections and periodic dimensional verification on component-level outputs.
  • Each weldment, assigned to a skilled and experienced welder, is created and recorded on the Work Order IAW distributed prints.
  • The Production Manager performs visual inspections and dimensional verification on weldment-level outputs, as defined by the Work Order.
  • The Production Manager is responsible and accountable for delivering completed and verified Work Orders to the Office Manager.
  • The Program Manager and General Manager review each completed order for accuracy and completion before customer release.
  • Orlando Metal Fabrication is familiar with both AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and is able to complete Dimensional Verification Forms upon request.
  • Orlando Metal Fabrication keeps detailed records of raw material inputs procured and can provide Material Certification for all raw material inputs, as required.*
